Calculating Names with Succession Notations -- I, II, III, IV, Jr., Sr., et cetera

How would you calculate the name "Wohard Nerst, III"?

My general rule is to use the name exactly as first recorded, which would most often be a birth certificate of other official record. Some numerologists recommend dropping any I, II, III, Jr., etc. that denotes succession.

Getting two readings and comparing them should resolve any doubt which is correct for the name.
